Just recently we did an event down in Barcelona with one of our clients. The idea was first that just a couple of the Ocean Group team should attend. After much hesitation on my part, we decided to bring the hole team and stay a few days after the event and do something together.

In September 2010 Ocean Group arranged a unique conference for all of Team Sportia store owners to Barcelona..

Day 1
The conference starts in the morning and will run until 12.30. The lunch will be served in one of the nice restaurants at Berns. After lunch we will have time for some activities and there is a wide variety to choose from. Here are some examples: Historical walkabout in the old town, A boattrip to Djursholm, Or maybe if your not scared of heights see the Ericsson globe from top.
Back home after a day full of meetings and fun activities its time to relaxe in the hotel spa.
Later at night we will proceed with our very appreciated activity “Dinearound evening”. We will with different methods of transportation visit the top three restaurants in town. We will have a starter at Pontus Brasseri, after that the main course will be served at the trendy Grill. The dessert will round up the evening and will be served at Sturehof. For those of us looking for a late night out we will help you with tips around the best places to visit.
Day 2
After breakfast at the hotel its time to leave Stockholm and head back home.

We split into teams depending on number of participants and are assigned different tasks. Many see Marstrand as the “capital” of the West Coast. The atmosphere is great in the summer, with lots of boats, people, and opportunities for a successful conference.

Agenda
Day 1
You depart from Gothenburg where RIB boats are waiting for you, after the captain has gone over safety procedures and handed out the equipment it’s time to board the boats and depart on a culinary experience and pub crawl out of the ordinary.
Your first stop is the beautiful island Åstal where you visit Åstol Smokehouse, where you will be served their smoked shrimp, salmon, and mackerel accompanied by white wine.
After a short RIB trip we reach today’s second stop, which is Klädesholmen and Restaurant Salt & Sill. There you can enjoy a “Snapas” which is pickled herring with flavored hard liquor.
Before leaving for the next stop, Pettersons Krog on Käringön, we will take the opportunity to look at the seals reveling on the rocks. Once on Käringön, you are served a classic clam chowder and oysters with a glass of sparkling wine.
Once everyone is happy and satisfied, it is time to head to the final destination, Mollösunds Wärdshus. We arrive in the harbor and go for a walk in the beautiful area to experience one of the oldest fishing communities on the West Coast. After the walk we enjoy a delicious two-course dinner at Mollösunds Wärdshus glassed-in veranda with a view of the harbor.
Return home with limousine bus to Gothenburg. This bus is an experience in and of itself.
How about a U-shaped sofa for 20, a bar and a dance floor in the middle of the bus.
Do you want the transportation to your conference to be memorable? With a limousine bus, you have your own dance floor, comfortable lounge sofas and armchairs, a high quality sound system and your own bar.
We know by experience that the limousine bus is very popular with the participants of your conference or event. The guests are treated to a completely different experience than what a regular bus can offer and the difference in price is marginal.
The limousine bus can be used for both longer and shorter distances. A good example is you’ve chosen to have your event at one of the scenic taverns in the archipelago, but your accommodations are in the city of Gothenburg. The limousine bus is also perfect to combine with the RIB-boats from Gothenburg. Kennet Cup is a charity event to benefit Cancerfonden and Mustaschkampen’s fight against prostate cancer. The Cup was organized jointly by Ocean Group and Kennet Andersson. The goal was to make Kennet the largest contributor to Mustaschkampen 2010, and that goal was achieved.
Kennet Cup was held at Heden in Gothenburg on June 5th. Different companies had sponsored a total of 12 teams. Some of the teams consisted purely of celebrities, others were mixed. One of the teams was of course Team Kennet. There was also a Team Glenn, lead by Glenn Hysén. To qualify for that team, you had to be named Glenn.
The event was very successful and attracted a lot of people. The winner of Kennet Cup 2010 was Team Kyboe. Read more about the event at www.kennetcup.se

Castellum was one of the main sponsors of the large and traditional Stena Match Cup at Marstrand. For the second year in a row, Ocean Group organized all their events on-site. Every day we took care of a new crowd of curious and specially invited guests. The days were packed with everything from watching the race from the world’s fastest catamaran sauna, to participating in the match cup regatta, taking a RIB-boat ride and sailing with oneoff’s 60 foot boat. During the evening mingling, West Coast delicacies were served up on an icebreaker. Every evening was unique and the week was so eventful we recommend you look at the pictures.

It was really hard to miss that Castellum was onsite during the week. Together we did everything we could to make sure they would appear in as many contexts as possible. One of the pictures shows the catamaran sauna which constituted Castellum’s headquarter.

Dinner was server on the roof of the catamaran. We started in the fjord of Marstrand and reached Marstrand’s harbor by the end of the dessert.
Sailing
Sailing with Celeste, a 60-foot sail boat for ocean racing. The boat is extremely well equipped and has participated in a large number of major ocean races. One of the days was very windy and both the boat and its crew had to show what they were made of. Lucky for us they both came through. Whether you have sailed before or not, it’s an incredible experience to cut through the waves at a staggering speed with only the wind to propel you.

There were other activities available for those who opted to not sail, such as help with hair and make-up for the evening’s festivities.

West Coast Poker Race has been organized and developed by Ocean Group for the last five years. The idea comes from the US where it is very popular. We have developed a version of it for the West Coast that has become a smashing success.
This combination of poker tournament and boat race event, takes place every year in the end of May. It starts at the River Café where the first cards are dealt to the participants. They then proceed by boat to the next stop at Seaside Björkö. At every stop there are different activities and the participants are getting additional cards.
After a total of five stops, including Marstrand, Salt & Sill on Klädesholmen, it is time for the grand finale at Mollösunds Wärdshus where the participants play their cards and a winner is determined. Each year, Lasse Kronér has been the master of ceremonies and the festivities in the evening plays a part in of what makes this event such a success. The coast guard is invited and participates every year to ensure the high class of the event.

All participants had received an invitation for a James Bond themed Christmas Party at the Science Park on Lindholmen.
The guests are seated after walking the red carpet and being served champagne. Suddenly they can hear loud noises and a disturbance from the outside. Through the glass sections everyone can see the BMW chased by two dark cars approaching at high speed. A dark figure jumps out the BMW with a gun drawn. Several men in camouflage carrying automatic rifles exit the dark cars and start shooting.
The dark figure defeats the attackers and storms into the room. It’s no one less than “007 James Kronér” (Swedish celebrity) entering the stage and the party can get started.

On August 5 -13, participants from 14 different countries competed for the prestigious BMW Dragon Cup. Among the participants were professional athletes as well as big shot business people and royalty.

Zell am See is rich in traditions and one of Austria’s oldest ski resorts with wide pistes and scenic snow plateaus. From the top of the legendary Kitzsteinhorn, at an elevation of 3029 meters, you have a view of the lake Zeller See that is absolutely breathtaking. The snow in Zell am See is almost guaranteed, thanks to its high elevation and the well-built facility for artificial snow. Due to all the trees in the area, visibility is fair even during fog and snowfall. The area has 130 kilometers of pistes for all levels and there are also opportunities for off-piste skiing. The free ski bus between Zell am See and the neighboring village Kaprun can be used to reach all pistes in the area.
Accommodations
Hotel Traube is a 3-star hotel with about 50 beds and the best possible location in the center of Zell am See directly on the main boulevard. The hotel is offering its guests, apart from a personal and relaxed environment, meeting-room, free internet terminal and free W-lan. The rooms have shower/WC, cable-TV, phone, hairdryer, and high-speed internet for those of you who bring your laptop. Some of the rooms have a view of the lake. The hotel is located about 100 meters from lake Zeller on the boulevard with all restaurants, cafés, cultural attractions, and shops in the immediate vicinity.
Conference
Hotel Traube doesn’t have a permanent conference room. The conference takes place in the breakfast restaurant, which has been prepared according to your specifications and all equipment you need is available. Fruit, water and snacks are served in the morning and the afternoon.
Relaxation and enjoyment have always been very popular in Zell am See-Kaprun. They have now built one of the most modern spas in Europe, which just opened this past November. The facilities offer everything you need for a relaxing day at the spa. Apart from a panorama sauna, it also features a saltwater pool, outdoor pool, and a glassed-in aroma steam bath. The building is also housing a large restaurant. Tauern Spa is in Kaprun, a five minutes taxi ride from the hotel. Zell am See also offer many other types of activities such as horse drawn sleigh rides and tobogganing.
Destination
Welcome to one of the best ski system in the Alps. St. Anton is one of Europe’s most snow covered resorts, and features nice restaurants, fun parties and lots of activities. Yes it’s hard to hold back on the praise for St. Anton. The ski area is excellent for both beginners and experienced off-piste skier. The resort has a population of 2,700, an elevation of 1,300 meters, and more than 50 different pistes to choose from.
Accommodations
Hotel Reselehof is owned by the Swedes Gunnar and Marie Munthe and is a small cozy chalet and dates back to 1779. The building fits in with the beautiful traditionally genial spirit of St. Anton. Reselehof has 26 beds and is within walking distance of most attractions and only 100 meters from the lift (gondola Nasserwinbahn) in St. Anton. The Munthe’s are part of the scenery in the resort. They have operated the hotel for over 30 years and are known for their hospitality.
Conference
Reselehof is not a typical conference hotel and has no regular conference room. Since you are their only guests during your conference, they turn the dining room into a conference room. Equipment can be arranged by request.
Activities
St. Anton have a variety of activities to choose from. There are several spas, but the best known is Arlberg-Well Spa and Fitness Center. Please see http://arlberg-well.com/
Another popular activity is St. Anton’s renowned toboggan slope between Gampen and Nasserein. The slope is constructed naturally and measure 4 kilometers with a vertical drop of 500 meters. It got electric illumination and guarantees an experience out of the ordinary.
Or how about a romantic tour in a horse-drawn sleigh? The tour takes about an hour and is a great way to experience the beautiful mountain scenery in St. Anton.
Engelberg, located near the center of Switzerland, is a classic ski resort with turn of the century facades and a large monastery. The first ski lifts were built in the late 1920s, but the village dates back to 1100s when the monastery was built. The skiing in Engelberg takes place on the two mountains on either side of the valley. Brunni, where people looking for the sun goes, is called the Sunny Side. By linking the two areas, Titilis-Trübsee-Jochpass and Brunni, the lift pass “Engelberg-Titlis” offers 94 kilometers of slopes at an elevation of 1,050 – 3,020 meters. 22 lifts, including Rotairbahn, the first lift with a rotating gondola, give you access to this winter wonderland.
Accommodations
Ski Lodge is a smaller, Swedish owned, cozy hotel located in the middle of the best area of Engelberg. They have about 70 beds, excellent conference facilities, and a restaurant recognized for its good food. Here you can enjoy an outdoor sauna and hot tub. The hotel opened under new management two years ago and the last of the renovations were completed in the end of 2010.
Conference
Ski Lodge has two conference rooms and a 40 sq.m. veranda that is ideal for a group of 25. You have access to LCD-projector, whiteboard, pens, pads, fruit and water. Lunch and refreshments are served during the conference.
Activities
There’s never a dull moment in Engelberg. There are no less than three high quality spas, the almost 1000 year old monastery, curling, and bungee jumping. End the evening with a wine and cheese tasting in a typical Swiss environment.
To lodge and conference at Fjällbäcken means you have the facilities for yourself. It welcomes 5-25 people at a time.
Top class, among the best-tasting experiences I’ve had (statement from a guest in the spring of 2010 who had worked with the national chef team). The facility is located 800 meters above sea level on the ridge of Kalfjället and offers a panoramic view. There is also a wide range of activities and experiences available for your conference or meeting.

The city center is located on the northern part of the cape where Table Mountain works as a dramatic backdrop to the city. If you go further down the Atlantic coast you’ll reach the famous beaches in Clifton and Camps Bay. The slopes are lined with luxury villas, hotels, bars and restaurant with wonderful and unique facilities to host your conference.

Mollösunds Wärdshus dating from the 1800s is a very special hotel and conference center on the West Coast.
This gem is located on the tip of Orust in Bohuslän. The house has been renewed since 2001 through careful renovations to bring forth spaces from both past and present. Mollösunds Wärdshus, with its glassed-in veranda and unique terrace, is situated in the middle of the harbor and has a great view of the sea. Mollösunds Wärdshus is in our opinion one of the most pleasant places on Orust to hold a conference.

Once home from a fun activity-filled afternoon, it is time to relax and enjoy the hotel’s spa.
Around 8pm our incredibly popular “Dine-Around Evening” starts. We travel by foot and visit three of the city’s best restaurants. We start with an appetizer at Fiskekrogen, then move on to the main course at Kock och Vin, and finish with dessert at Restaurang Basement. For those who wants to continue further we will assist with tips for nightclubs and bars.
Day 2
The conference starts at 9am and concludes after lunch. We will help you with suitable transportation to your destination.

A fast-paced and experience-filled adventure on the West Coast.

Agenda
Departure by RIB boat from central Gothenburg. Our highly qualified skipper will give you an unforgettable experience on the West Coast.
We stop for lunch at a suitable archipelago tavern or island.
Sightseeing at 60 knots. We stop and talk about several of the coastal idylls, and take the opportunity talk to the skippers as most of them grew up in the area. We pass several well known areas such as Marstrand, Klädesholmen, Skärshamn, and Kyrkesund.
Arrival at Mollösund.
The conference center is conveniently located on the waterfront and everything is ready for work!
After the conference we check in at Mollösunds Wärdshus.
We slip into the hot tubs on the terrace.
After a change of clothes, a delicious dinner is served in the restaurant inspired by the sea.

Day 1
We take you on a breathtaking journey with RIB boat from Gothenburg and on the way up we treat you to a delicious lunch at one of the coast’s gems. Once at Marstrand, the conference starts in one of Grand Hotel’s newly renovated meeting rooms. After the conference, there is a historical tour in the footsteps of Lasse Maja around the fortress. The day is completed with a culinary experience at the renowned Restaurang Gran Tenan.
Day 2
After a good night’s sleep and a breakfast buffet at Grand Hotel, a new half-day conference awaits followed by lunch. The trip home is made by buss to Gothenburg.

Hot tub, always an enjoyable conference activity
For those of you who want to take a peaceful and relaxing break from the everyday stress, a relaxing soak in a hot tub is an excellent option. The combination of sitting in 37 degree water while looking at the sea only a stone throw away makes the West Coast an even more beautiful place to hold a conference. Hot tubs are currently available at most conference centers like Mollösund Inn, Björholmens Marina and others, and add great value to your existing conference.
